Emily Whitmire is an American MMA fighter, who competes in the Strawweight division of the UFC. She has a professional MMA record of 4-4-0 (W-L-D).
Emily Whitmire was born on May 24, 1991, in Washougal, Washington. She was not much fond of fighting sports at an early age, but when grown-up made her first amateur fights. As an amateur fighter, Emily Whitmire took part at events of Alive MMA, Full Contact Kickboxing, Tuff-N-Uff and etc. She was training in a Portland gym and taking amateur matches before being invited to train at Xtreme Couture in 2017.
Emily Whitmire made her professional MMA debut on September 19, 2015, at Freestyle Cage Fighting 50. She won the fight versus Emily Ducote by a unanimous decision. Next year, she took park at RFA 44 event, fighting versus Kelly D’Angelo, but lost by guillotine choke submission in Round 2. In 2017, Emily Whitmire took part at Extreme Beatdown 20, winning her fight versus Ronni Nanney by a unanimous decision.
In August 2017, Emily Whitmire took part in The Ultimate Fighter Season 26 and had a remarkable performance. She won her fight at the opening round versus Christina Marks by armbar submission but lost in the quarter-finals from Roxanne Modafferi by TKO in Round 1. In December, she was participated at The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale, but lost from Gillian Robertson by armbar submission in the first round.
However, her performance was great and she signed with the UFC. On July 7, 2018, she won the first versus Jamie Moyle at UFC 226 by a unanimous decision, while on February 17, 2019, she smashed Aleksandra Albu at UFC on ESPN 1 by rear-naked choke submission in the opening round.
However, Emily Whitmire registered two losses in the next fights – from Amanda Ribas at UFC on ESPN 3 (by rear-naked choke submission) and Polyana Viana at UFC Fight Night 175 (by armbar submission).
