Joanna Jedrzejczyk is a Polish professional mixed martial artist and former Muay Thai kickboxer. She currently competes in the women’s Flyweight and women’s Strawweight divisions for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is a former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk was born on August 18, 1987, in Olsztyn, Poland. She discovered Muay Thai when she was 16, while taking up fitness, which eventually led her to compete in national and European tournaments.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk made her professional debut professional MMA on May 19, 2012, at SFT – MMA Fight Night Diva SPA against Sylwia Juskiewicz, winning via unanimous decision. She recorded 5 consecutive wins in her career – versus Liliya Kazak at Makowski Fighting Championship 5 (by rear naker-choke submission), Kate Jackson at PLMMA 17 Extra (TKO), Julia Berezikova at Battle of Moscow 12 (by unanimous decision), Karla Benitez at WAM (by unanimous decision), and Rosi Sexton at CWFC 69 (by KO).
Joanna Jedrzejczyk officially signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in July 2014. She made her promotional debut, now fighting as a strawweight, on July 26, 2014, at UFC on Fox: Lawler vs. Brown against Juliana Lima. She won the fight via unanimous decision.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk made another eight consecutive wins at the UFC – versus Juliana Lima at UFC on Fox 12 (by unanimous decision), Claudia Gadelha at UFC on Fox 13 (by split decision), Carla Esparza at UFC 185 (by KO), Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69 (by TKO), Valerie Letourneau at UFC 193 (by unanimous decision), Claudia Gadelha at UFC – The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale (by unanimous decision), Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205 (by unanimous decision), and Jessica Andrade at UFC 211 (by unanimous decision).
After the great winning series, Joanna Jedrzejczyk was topped by Rose Namajunas at UFC 217 by TKO in Round 1. She lost also the revenge with her at UFC 223 by unanimous decision.
On July 28, 2018, Joanna Jedrzejczyk won her fight at UFC on Fox 30 versus Tecia Torres by unanimous decision but lost on later same year from Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 231.
On October 19, 2019, she won versus Michelle Waterson at UFC Fight Night 161.
However, Joanna Jedrzejczyk lost her last fight at UFC 248 versus Weili Zhang by a split decision.
