Kailin Curran is an American mixed martial artist (MMA) who competes in the strawweight division. She previously fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Kailin Curran was born on April 11, 1991, and raised in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. She attended James Campbell High School where she was a member of the wrestling team. Kailin Curran began her amateur MMA career in 2010, amassing a record of 4 wins, 1 loss, and 1 No Contest over the next two years.
Kailin Curran made her professional MMA debut on March 8, 2013, at Pacific Xtreme Combat 36 versus Kaiyana Rain, winning by unanimous decision. After the strong debut, she extended her winning series versus Emi Tomimatsu at Pacific Xtreme Combat 38 and Yoo Jin Jung at Pacific Xtreme Combat 42.
On November 24, 2014, Kailin Curran made her UFC debut against Paige VanZant. She lost the fight via TKO in the third round. Despite the loss, she was awarded Fight of the Night honors. In her second fight for the promotion, Kailin Curran faced Alex Chambers at UFC Fight Night: Miocic vs Hunt. Despite controlling the majority of the bout, she lost via submission in the third round.
On December 10, 2015, Kailin Curran reached her first win at the UFC. She won the fight versus Emily Kagan at UFC Fight Night 80 by rear-naked choke submission.
However, the next four fights of Kailin Curran were quite unsuccessful and she registered losses, despite the good performance. She lost from Felice Herrig at UFC on Fox 20 (by rear-naked choke submission), Jamie Moyle at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale (by unanimous decision), Aleksandra Albu at UFC 214 (by unanimous decision), and Xiaonan Yan at UFC Fight Night 122 (by unanimous decision). After the negative series, she left the UFC and had a break.
In 2019, Kailin Curran returned to the Octagon at Invicta FC. She registered two wins – versus Sunna Rannveig Davidsdottir at Invicta FC – Phoenix Series 1 (by split decision) and Sharon Jacobson (by unanimous decision). However, she lost the last fight versus Brianna Van Buren by rear-naked choke submission.
