Kana Watanabe is a Japanese professional MMA fighter and Olympic judo qualifier. She competes in the flyweight division of Bellator MMA. Her professional MMA record is 9-0-1 (W-L-D).
Kana Watanabe was born on August 21, 1988, in Tokyo, Japan. She started practicing judo and Karate from an early age. In September 2016 she won silver at the Taipei Open, before turning to MMA.
Kana Watanabe made her professional MMA debut on December 03, 2017, at Deep – Jewels 18. She fought versus Hikari Sato and won by technical armbar submission in Round 2. Later the same year she took part at Rizin Fighting World Grand Prix 2017, winning versus Shizuka Sugiyama with a unanimous decision.
In most of her career, Kana Watanabe was competing for Deep-Jewels and Rizin. She registered one draw (versus Yukari Nabe at Deep – Jewels 19) and six more wins – versus Yukari Nabe at Deep – Jewels 20 (by majority decision), Asami Nakai Deep at 85 Impact (by armbar submission), Shizuka Sugiyama at Rizin FF (by TKO), Soo Min Kang at Deep – Jewels 23 (by TKO), Justyna Haba at Rizin 15 (by unanimous decision), and Hee Eun Kang at Deep – Jewels 26 (by rear-naked choke submission).
In December 2019, Kana Watanabe signed with Bellator. She made her debut at Bellator 237 versus Ilara Joanne, winning by TKO in Round 3.
On April 2, 2021, is scheduled her next fight versus Alejandra Lara (9-3-0).
