Lena Ovchynnikova is a Ukrainian kickboxer and mixed martial artist who competes in the featherweight division in kickboxing and the flyweight division in MMA. She is the reigning WBC Muaythai World Featherweight champion and the former world flyweight champion.
Lena Ovchynnikova was born on April 22, 1987, in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union. She came to prominence as an amateur kickboxer and Muay Thai fighter, medaling at various national, European, and world championships, before joining professional MMA.
Lena Ovchynnikova made her professional MMA debut at IGF – International Gala Festival on September 09, 2006, winning by unanimous decision. After the successful debut, she had a series of seven consecutive wins on various events. On March 11, 2012, Lena Ovchynnikova registered her first loss in professional MMA from Sanja Sucevic at SFL 1 – Super Fight League 1. She lost by rear-naked choke submission in Round 2. She had moderate success in the next several fights, but in 2016 signed with Bellator, going 2-2 in her first four fights in the promotion. She lost from Rebecca Ruth at Bellator 150 – Kongo vs. Spartan (by unanimous decision) and Alejandra Lara at Bellator 190 – Carvalho vs. Sakara (by rear-naked choke submission), but won versus Karla Benitez at Bellator 164 – Koreshkov vs. Lima 2 (by unanimous decision) and Helen Harper at Bellator 177 – Dantas vs. Higo (TKO).
The last fight of Lena Ovchynnikova was at Bellator 223 – Mousasi vs. Lovato Jr on June 22, 2019, losing from Kate Jackson by TKO in Round 1.
