Tracy Cortez is an American mixed martial artist (MMA) and competes in the flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC).
Tracy Cortez was born on December 10, 1993, in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. At the age of 14, she started training MMA after she watched her oldest brother Jose’s fight against former UFC veteran Drew Fickett.
Tracy Cortez started her amateur career in MMA under World Fighting Federation and KOTC and amassed a record of 3-0 prior to being signed by Invicta Fighting Championships. She made her debut in the professional MMA on August 31, 2017, at Invicta FC 25 – Kunitskaya vs. Pa’aluhi, but lost from Cheri Muraski by guillotine choke submission in Round 2. Despite the unsuccessful start, she made an amazing series of 5 consecutive wins – versus Roxanne Ceasear at World Fighting Federation 36 (by unanimous decision), Kaytlin Neil at Invicta FC 28 – Mizuki vs. Jandiroba (by unanimous decision), Monica Medina at V3 Fights 69 (by rear-naked choke submission), Karen Cedillo at Combate Americas – Alday vs. Lopez (by TKO) and Erin Blanchfield at Invicta FC 34 – Porto vs. Gonzalez (by split decision).
Following the amazing winning series, Tracy Cortez received an invitation for Dana White’s Contender Series – Season 3, Episode 6, where she fought versus Mariya Agapova on July 30, 2019. She won the fight by unanimous decision and thus signed with UFC.
Tracy Cortez made her UFC debut on November 16, 2019, versus Vanessa Melo at UFC Fight Night 164 – Blachowicz vs. Jacare. She won by unanimous decision. After that, she recorded another win versus Stephanie Egger at UFC Fight Night 179 – Moraes vs. Sandhagen by unanimous decision.
